Choosing the right cable length – Shimano 1300 / 1900 / 2300 mm and other sizes

How to choose the length

The cables come in fixed lengths. Which one fits depends on the routing path on the bike — not on the frame type in general. Measure from the drive light port to the headlight, including slack for strain relief and movement, and choose the matching article number.

Shimano: 1300, 1900 and 2300 mm

For open-end connection (among others compatible with Shimano STEPS) there are three lengths with the same CT1B light side: 1300 × 3.0 mm, 1900 × 3.0 mm and 2300 × 3.0 mm. Each length is available as single pack or workshop pack.

Which size fits is decided by the measured routing path — not by frame type in general. Too short: next larger available length or the 300 mm CT1 extension (when both sides are CT1A/CT1B). Too long: do not freely cut without proper re-termination; for open ends, re-terminate with CT22 (0.4–0.7 mm).

  • 400 × 3.0 mm — Avinox Micro M → CT1B (art. no. AVHG01CT1Bc40b-Fes / Few)

  • 300 × 3.2 mm — Universal extension CT1A → CT1B (CAc30)
